If you are, then our Work Experience Volunteer (WEV) Program may be for you.

About the program

For the past five years, we have successfully run the WEV program for students and graduates, offering them the chance to work on real PR campaigns from beginning to end. Many WEVs have gone on to gain employment in the field; specifically in consultancy, internal marketing/PR positions and writing for media.

A recent group worked on the 2008 Adelaide Bank Festival of Arts, assisting us to deliver a highly successful PR campaign in which all box office records were smashed.

The group of five spent eight exciting months side-by-side with communikate et al’s project manager attending Festival media calls, coordinating and attending interviews and photo shoots, and preparing multiple media materials.

Your time

Generally, WEV programs run between three to six months, with each WEV volunteering one day per week. However, we are happy to negotiate the length with each participant.

Participants will receive:

  • On-the-job training
  • Written reference at the end of the program
  • Ongoing verbal reference to prospective employers
  • Insight and practical experience in a PR/Marketing consultancy
  • Opportunity to work on projects
  • Build industry and media relationships
